TN New Electricity Tariff Rates - Tamil Nadu EB 100 Units Free Power for House - 2016

Tamil Nadu Government had announced Free 100 Units of Electricity of all Household Consumers with effect from May 23, 2016 (Monday). 

1) House -

Scenario 1 - If consumption is upto 100 units (per 2 months)

New Charge - Rs. 0 (Nil)

Scenario 2 - If consumption is upto 200 units (per 2 months)

- Upto 100 Units - Rs. 0 per unit

- 101 to 200 units - Rs. 1.50 per unit

- Additionally Fixed Charge Rs. 10 needs to be paid

Scenario 3 - If consumption is between 201 to 500 units per 2 months

- Upto 100 Units - Rs. 0 per unit

- 101 to 200 units - Rs. 2 per unit

- 201 to 500 units - Rs. 3 per unit

- Additionally Fixed Charge Rs. 15 needs to be paid

Scenario 3 - If you use above 500 units Rates are as follows

- Upto 100 Units - Rs. 0 per unit

- 101 to 200 units - Rs. 3.50 per unit

- 201 to 500 units - Rs. 4.60 per unit

- 501 and above units - Rs. 6.60 per unit

- Additionally Fixed Charge Rs. 50 needs to be paid

2) Industry 

Low Tension

- Rs. 6.35 per unit     (up 85 paise)

- Additionally Fixed Charge Rs. 70 / kW needs to be paid   (up Rs. 10)

High Tension

- Rs. 6.35 per unit     (up 85 paise)

- Additionally Fixed Charge Rs. 350 / kVA / per month needs to be paid   (up Rs. 50)

3) Commercial Establishments (includes Cinema Theaters)

Low Tension

- Rs. 5 per unit upto 100 units     (up 70 paise)

- Rs. 8.05 per unit above 100 units   (up Rs. 1.05)

- Additionally Fixed Charge Rs. 140 / kW needs to be paid   (up Rs. 20)

High Tension

- Rs. 8 per unit     (up Rupee 1)

- Additionally Fixed Charge Rs. 350 / kVA / per month needs to be paid   (up Rs. 50)

4) Private Schools, Colleges

Low Tension

- Rs. 7.50 per unit     (up Rupee 1)

- Additionally Fixed Charge Rs. 120 / kW needs to be paid   (up Rs. 20)

High Tension

- Rs. 6.35 per unit     (up 85 paise)

- Additionally Fixed Charge Rs. 350 / kVA / per month needs to be paid   (up Rs. 50)

5) Government and Govt-Aided Schools

Low Tension

- Rs. 5.75 per unit     (up 75 paise)

- Additionally Fixed Charge Rs. 120 / kW needs to be paid   (up Rs. 20)

High Tension

- Rs. 6.35 per unit     (up Rs. 1.85)

- Additionally Fixed Charge Rs. 350 / kVA / per month needs to be paid   (up Rs. 50)

6) Temples

- Rs. 5.75 per unit     ( up 75 paise)

- Additionally Fixed Charge Rs. 120 / kW needs to be paid   (up Rs. 20)

7) Temporary Connection 

Low Tension

- Rs. 12 per unit     (up Rs. 1.50)

- Additionally Fixed Charge Rs. 345 / kW / per month needs to be paid   (up Rs. 45)

High Tension

- Rs. 11 per unit     (up Rs. 1.50)

- Additionally Fixed Charge Rs. 350 / kVA / per month needs to be paid   (up Rs. 50)
